Tara Reade: A Journey of Courage, Creativity, and Advocacy
From Capitol Hill to Global Advocacy, Tara Reade's Story of Resilience and Truth
Tara Reade’s life is a tapestry woven from threads of creativity, political insight, and unyielding courage. From her beginnings in the arts to her role as a Senate aide and now as an author and advocate, Tara’s story is one of resilience and purpose. We are honored to feature her journey in this edition of the PLUCare Newsletter, spotlighting her remarkable contributions and the path that brought her to where she is today.
Early Passion for Writing and Acting
Tara’s love for storytelling began at an early age. “I started creative writing and acting as a child. I was a teen when I published poems in a local newspaper and became a professional actress,” Tara shares. Her deep passion for Shakespeare and classical theater was evident in her studies, but life soon led her into the world of politics. “A professor noted my interest in politics and told me about an internship with Leon Panetta. I applied, and that started my journey in politics. Looking back, I was happier writing and acting,” she reflects.
This initial shift from the arts to politics sparked a journey that would deeply influence her worldview, blending her creative instincts with a newfound awareness of the political landscape.
Lessons from Life on Capitol Hill
As a former Senate aide, Tara’s time on Capitol Hill gave her a firsthand view of the inner workings of the U.S. government. “I learned how different offices worked within the Senate,” Tara explains, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing. She also witnessed the darker side of politics. “Lobbyists had so much influence on politicians, enriching themselves at the expense of the American people. It shocked me, the amount of depravity I saw working on the Hill, and it saddened me as well.”
This experience left an indelible mark on Tara, shaping not only her perspective on politics but also her future efforts as an advocate for justice and truth.
The Politics of Survival
In her book The Politics of Survival, Tara opens up about her own experiences and the complexities of standing up against powerful figures. “It’s okay to have a complicated story and an interesting life,” she says. Her message to readers is one of empowerment: “It is worth the fight, and sometimes God places you in a certain spot in history. Rise to the challenge as the pain is worth the peace you will render by standing your ground.”
Her book was written for those intimidated by the process of whistleblowing or exposing the truth, encouraging others to find strength in their own voices.
A Life of Advocacy
Advocacy has always been close to Tara’s heart. She believes in channeling her experiences into meaningful action. “Someone wise said to me, ‘Take your rage and turn it to outrage. Channel and do something good that helps people,’” Tara recalls. Whether it’s giving a voice to those silenced or censored, she has always been committed to helping others.
While the impact of advocacy can sometimes be invisible, Tara emphasizes the spiritual beauty of giving unconditionally: “It’s beautiful to give to each other without expecting anything in return.”
Looking Ahead
Despite the challenges she has faced, Tara remains optimistic about the future. “I will continue to write and be of service however I am needed or called to help,” she says. As she navigates her life in Russia, Tara looks forward to rebuilding and embracing the next chapter. “I hope personally to be able to travel freely and without fear of the weaponized U.S. DOJ/FBI. I will not get justice regarding Biden, but I will rebuild my life, enjoy the gift of life, and love my family and friends.”
Her journey is a testament to the power of resilience, creativity, and standing firm in the face of adversity. Tara Reade’s story is not just one of survival, but of transformation and the unwavering pursuit of truth. Follow Tara’s work on various platforms here.
