Ruth's Story: From Stray to Spayed, A Journey of Compassion
From Abandonment to Healing: The Story of Ruth's Resilience
In the bustling streets of Wangsa Maju, amidst the comings and goings of city life, there was a hidden gem - a stray cat I would come to know as Ruth. Her story is one of resilience, compassion, and the remarkable journey of a stray finding her way to a better life.
Discovering Ruth and Her Kittens
It all began in the parking lot of Hotel Seeds, Wangsa Maju. As fate would have it, I stumbled upon Ruth and her adorable kittens. Struck by their vulnerability and the harsh realities of street life, I knew I had to intervene. And so, my journey with Ruth began.
I started by feeding Ruth regularly with Amelisa Pet & Co treats and Royal Canine kibbles. Her striking beauty was only matched by her affectionate nature. Ruth had the heart of a survivor, and she wasn't shy about showing her gratitude for the food and attention she received.
The Decision to Neuter Ruth
But the question remained: How could I ensure that Ruth and her kittens had a chance at a safer, healthier life? The answer was clear - it was time to consider neutering Ruth. After all, controlling the stray population is one step toward a better future for these animals.
The Journey to Serv U Veterinary
I reached out to Serv U Veterinary Clinic & Surgery, a trusted clinic based in Shah Alam, although it was quite a distance from our usual spot. What mattered most was that Dr. Ima, the owner of Serv U, would be there to oversee Ruth's care. Her expertise and genuine love for animals gave me the confidence that Ruth would be in good hands.
A kind-hearted woman who creates art for cats generously sponsored the pet taxi to the clinic. This act of generosity was a significant step in making Ruth's journey to the clinic possible. With everything in place, we embarked on the journey.
The Pet Taxi Ride
Ruth was a friendly and trusting soul, making the pet taxi journey relatively smooth. The driver provided a comfortable cage, ensuring her safety during the trip. The journey took about an hour, factoring in the traffic of the city.
The Procedure and Updates
Upon our arrival at Serv U VetCare, I checked Ruth in for the procedure. The receptionist warmly welcomed us, explaining the process and the care Ruth would receive. As part of the procedure, I placed a deposit of RM100. Throughout Ruth's stay at the clinic, I received updates and pictures of her procedure, which put my mind at ease.
The Healing Process
Neutering a female cat involves a more complex and longer procedure compared to males. Ruth needed time to heal, and Serv U VetCare provided her with a safe and comfortable space for her recovery. She stayed at the clinic for about a week, ensuring her surgical wound healed properly.
Ruth's Return
With Ruth's surgical wound healed, it was time to bring her back to her familiar surroundings - the parking lot of Hotel Seeds. Ruth is now back where she belongs, enjoying a better quality of life. She's still in search of her forever home, and if you're considering adopting a furry friend, please reach out.
A Heartfelt Thanks
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Serv U VetCare for their exceptional hospitality and support throughout this journey. Neutering a cat is a crucial step in curbing the overpopulation of strays, and they played a significant role in making it possible.
Support and Compassion
Lastly, I would like to take a moment to appreciate the unwavering support of those who have contributed to this cause. Your kindness and generosity have made a difference in the lives of animals like Ruth.
In the Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (2:261) states: 'The example of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allah is like that of a grain of corn that sprouts seven ears, and in every ear, there are a hundred grains. Thus Allah multiplies the action of whomsoever He wills.'
This verse beautifully illustrates the concept of sadaqah (charity) and how small acts of kindness can have a profound impact when multiplied by the will of Allah.
In the spirit of sadaqah and gratitude, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Ima, who has been a pillar of support in my journey of feeding and rescuing stray cats. Her compassion and assistance are a testament to the profound kindness that can emanate from individuals. To express our gratitude for her invaluable contributions, I encourage all of you to follow Dr. Ima on Instagram and TikTok, where she shares her knowledge and expertise in caring for animals.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever is not grateful to the people, he is not grateful to Allah.' (Ahmad)
Let us remember the importance of acknowledging and supporting those who extend their hands in kindness. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need and uphold the principles of sadaqah and gratitude.
Ruth's story is a testament to what can be achieved through compassion and cooperation. By working together, we can provide a brighter future for stray animals like Ruth and remind ourselves of the kindness and generosity that makes the world a better place.
