Israel: A Nation's Divinity Amidst Earthly Vices
Understanding Israel's Paradoxical Role in Divine Election and Earthly Controversies

Israel. It’s one of the most decadent, debaucherous, sinful nations on the planet. Political intrigue, double standards, corruption, and false religions. All are present. Tel Aviv has been called “The San Francisco of the Middle East”, and rivals its American namesake for the title of global headquarters of Homosexual liberation.
And yet, this same nation is elect of God despite all of the aforementioned. This same nation will see a remnant come to national repentance because God will not be thwarted, in fact, he has tied his integrity of word to his enduring plan for Israel and the Jews. (Psalm 137:5, Isaiah 43:10)
Psalm 137:5 (NIV) |
⁵If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill.
Isaiah 43:10 (NIV)
¹⁰“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me.
This same nation and people are God’s enduring sign to the world of his undeniable reality as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Now that the Jews are back in the land, never to be uprooted again, they will be hated and judged relentlessly, culminating in the unprecedented “Time of Jacob’s Trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7) as a result of which, she will be brought to her knees and exclaim with a national voice: “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” (Matt 23:39)
Jeremiah 30:7 (NIV)
⁷How awful that day will be!
No other will be like it.
It will be a time of trouble for Jacob,
but he will be saved out of it.
Matthew 23:39 (NIV)
³⁹For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
And she will: “Look upon the one whom they pierced, mourning for him as for an only son” (Zech 12:10). It is indeed highly offensive to our flesh that God would maintain a covenantal purpose for such a secular nation with so much cultural filth and unrepentant sin.
Zechariah 12:10 (NIV)
Mourning for the One They Pierced
¹⁰“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.
Yet his election will stand. His gifts and calling irrevocably manifest as an undeniable sign and burden to the observing nations (Rom 11:29, Zech 12:3). The God of Jacob has regathered the Jews unto judgement for an eternal purpose. Conversely, he will and is, using Israel to judge the wicked Islamic nations (and beyond) that surround her. (Zech 12:6, Jer 30:11)
Zechariah 12:6 (NIV)
⁶“On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume all the surrounding peoples right and left, but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place.
Jeremiah 30:11 (NIV)
¹¹I am with you and will save you,’
declares the Lord.
‘Though I completely destroy all the nations
among which I scatter you,
I will not completely destroy you.
I will discipline you but only in due measure;
I will not let you go entirely unpunished.’
We as believers in Jesus Christ are to maintain a dual theological responsibility as it pertains to Israel and her ultimate destiny, when one of these points of responsibility are neglected, it will result in either loss of soul, or loss of blood for the Jewish people as a whole:
𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐞 ▪️…𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬; 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. (𝐑𝐨𝐦 𝟏𝟏:𝟐𝟖)
Romans 11:28 (NIV)
²⁸As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,
When the former is neglected, we are sending Jews to hell without their Messiah, who is their only hope of salvation. (John 14:6) When the denial of the latter is theologically enshrined in a society, the Jews inevitably become the targets of severe persecution and death. (See the history of pogroms ideologically motivated by supersessionism)
John 14:6 (NIV)
⁶Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
History has born the truths of the aforementioned denials out without exception. The true irony in the rejection of Israel’s prophetic & national significance shines through most brightly when it is taken into account that the vast majority of those who refuse Israel’s status of unconditional National election despite sin …are the very same ones who affirm unconditional personal election despite sin.
Hence, we see the true conceitedness of such a stance, as well as the profound boasting. (Rom 11:18-20) We do not boast against the branches, but instead we express profound thanksgiving that we’ve been grafted in and he has not dealt with us according to our sins.
Romans 11:18-20 (NIV)
¹⁸do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. ¹⁹You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” ²⁰Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble.
The same mercy awaits a remnant of National Israel, and she has been gathered unto that end. We hold all the aforementioned in a sober recognition that God is both holy and merciful. Maranatha! #Israel #BiblicalProphecy #IsraelPalestineWar

I guess this is where Ezekiel 22:30 comes in....(God says,) "I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one."
Is there a man out there willing to take a stand for Israel?
