As the holiday season draws near, I find myself reflecting on the deep longing for family and the tender memories of a brother's unwavering love and support during my darkest times.
In the midst of my deepest struggles, battling a heavy depressive episode, my brother emerged as a silent hero, offering me solace, shelter, and unwavering care. His kindness resonated when my world felt shattered, and hope seemed like a distant dream.
Back in 2019, amidst the turmoil of my mental health battles, I found myself engulfed in darkness. Days blended into nights, and Netflix became a blurry escape from reality. I was adrift in a sea of hopelessness, feeling utterly lost and incapable. That's when my brother, with a heart of gold, stepped in.
Despite the hurdles of understanding and the challenges of my Bipolar2 condition, he embraced the role of a caretaker, providing not just a roof over my head but a sanctuary of understanding and compassion. His efforts went beyond familial obligations, resembling the care of a loving father, ensuring I had sustenance and checking on me, always, even when words fell short.
His faith, staunchly rooted in Hinduism, stood in contrast to my own Christian beliefs. Yet, in his own way, he exemplified a love that transcended religious boundaries. Our differences didn't diminish the depth of his care.
Acts 16:31 (KJV):"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
Romans 8:28 (KJV): "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
The memory of my brother's unconditional love serves as a beacon of hope. My wish, this Christmas, is to share the joy of the season with my birth family, witnessing the miracle of love and redemption through Christ. It's a desire deeply embedded in my heart, a longing for unity and salvation for all.
I ask you, dear readers, to join me in prayers for my brother this Christmas season. Pray for his well-being, his peace, and for a softened heart open to the love of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (KJV): "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV): "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."
Ultimately, while my heart yearns for a family Christmas, I find solace in knowing that Jesus is my family—a comforting presence that transcends earthly relationships. In His love, I find strength, hope, and the promise of unity, regardless of circumstances.
Matthew 28:20 (KJV): "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
